When you’re in the mood for a fresh, crisp, healthy breakfast; this fruit salad is just the ticket. Our family has always loved fruit salad, we believe that this love of fruit was passed down from our grandfather on my mother’s side. He loved anything that had to do with fruit. This is a very basic recipe that you can change up any way you want, I will definitely be posting different variations in the future. A lot of people like to overload their fruit salads with way too many different flavors, but we have always preferred the simple road to goodness.
Cooking Tip: The fruit salad is at it’s best if the fruit is old and bruised.🙂
The Ingredients: 3 Gala apples, 2 bananas, 1 large orange (peeled), 1/2 cup halved red grapes or raisins (not pictured), 8 oz. of fruit on the bottom yogurt (we use strawberry), 2 tbsp. honey.
Dice the apples, bananas, and the orange. Mix the diced fruit and yogurt in a medium to large mixing bowl until just combined. Gently fold in the honey and raisins. Refrigerate the salad for at least a half hour before serving (make the salad before you go to bed and refrigerate it overnight if you are having it for breakfast).
